Dereck Chisora has appealed his ban imposed by The British Boxing Board of Control and manager Frank Warren feels a showdown between Chisora and Haye is inevitable. The bad blood between the two fighters and subsequent press attention will probably be enough to sell tickets, despite Chisora’s recent poor fight record of losing 3 of his last 4, although he did put up a gallant effort against Vitali.
David Haye’s ring rust has been mentioned on this site before and a showdown with Chisora before a mega fight against Vitali would make sense both from a fighting point of view and a financial one.
Frank Warren sounds keen to get his man in the ring with Haye, he went on to say “It’s a natural fight, it doesn’t matter what anyone says. It’s a bigger fight than either of them fighting Wladimir or Vitali Klitschko.
“There’s lot for them to fight about, in a proper environment. I do see the fight happening. It’s the proper forum for them to settle their differences.”
David Haye is still wanted for questioning over the recent brawl in Munich and doesn’t have a licence to fight in the UK and may not get one after the Chisora spat. To make this fight as lucrative as possible it needs to be held in the UK and Chisora getting his licence back would pave the way for it to happen. Whether he does or not is another question.
